A quote to remember

I've never been profoundly changed by a quote or a motto. I had some that have guided my life, simply because they are good common sense, like "Don't do to others what you don't want done to you", or more simply put, "treat others like you would want to be treated". But I never heard or read one that stopped me in my tracks and felt in all the fibers of my being. Until today.

I stumbled on a quote from Albert Einstein. It touched me deeply because it defines something that is essential in my life. I never mesured my success or the success of others by money, position, social standing and all those silly things. The persons that I admire the most are creators, artists, people who use their imagination, ideas and vision to create, whether they are writers, painters, scientists, architects, quantum physicists, etc. Because let's face it, where would we be without creativity, imagination, ideas and creation? Not far.

Imagination is very important to me, because it is one of the rare things that no one can take away from you. A person can work for minimum wages in a third-world country factory, but go to the most fantastic places every day; lead the most amazing lives; in her head, just through the power of her imagination. A kid can grow up imagining a life for himself and then make that dream come true. Imagination is powerful.

This is why I'll never forget this quote from Albert Einstein. Who else but him could have come up with it!!!

"Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life's coming attractions."

That is a great quote!

My favorite quote is
"What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us"- Ralph Waldo Emerson

So true.

People cannot simply be defined by what they did, do or will do. People are so much more than the sum of their achievements.
