The road best traveled alone
I went to Boston this past weekend. Saturday we visited my ex's family. He wanted our daughter and his son to meet their 98 year old great-grand-mother. So it was a nice visit with my ex's relatives. They live about 20 minutes from Boston and we spent the afternoon and part of the evening there. Then Sunday, we went to visit Boston. We were just there for about 4 hours, so by the time we had breakfast, there was not much time left to do a lot of things.
It was the second time that I visited Boston, and both time, I was with other people and I did not have time to visit the things that I really wanted to see. So next time, I'll go alone.
I'm a big fan of Norman Rockwell and I really want to visit the Norman Rockwell Museum in Massachussets. I also always wanted to go to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. So next summer, I will probably take a whole week to travel by myself. I will take my sweet time, stop everytime I feel like it. Do some sightseeing, shopping, eating. Visit what I want to visit (museums, old book stores and antique shops, a brewery, the Harvard University campus...). I will go through Vermont, down to Massachussets, where I will visit the Norman Rockwell Museum, then drive towards the East cost, probably stopping to Providence on the way, and then visit Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard and Provincetown. Read books on the beach with a bowl of cherries and some cold beer. And on my way back to Canada, I will stop to Boston and finally stay as long as I want. And in the car, I will listen to the music I love and turn the volume as loud as I wanted. I'm telling you, there's nothing like being alone.
I am really looking forward to it.

I would love the travel the east coast like that. Since I live on the west coast, I've really never been there. I had a layover in florida once on my way to Puerto Rico, and that's about it. I hope you have fun when you go. :)
I would like to visit the West Coast. You're in Oregon right? I've been wanting to go there. I went to LA and San Francisco for a month back in January 1993. Or was it 1994? Anyway, I was there for the big earthquake. I wish I could have had the chance to visit Nappa Valley at the same time, and then move up to Oregon and to Seattle.
So many places to see... so little time...
